HOLLIS SIGLER (b. Gary, Indiana, 1948–d. Chicago, Illinois 2001)
Printworks Gallery was saddened by Hollis Sigler's passing on March 29, 2001. Hollis was one of our dearest friends,
and her work revolved around events in her life and what life dealt for her. Hollis' direction was never one of self-pity
but was dedicated to the hope that a cure would be found for breast cancer and to provide hope to others.
During her career, Hollis received many grants and awards for her paintings, watercolors, drawings and printmaking,
most notably a Childe Hassam Purchase Award from the American Academy and Institution of Arts and Letters.

Also available in the website's Publications section are two books written by Hollis
on her journey and struggle against breast cancer.

to be Done
