| PHILIP PEARLSTEIN (b. Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, 1924) |
| Received a B.F.A. from Carnegie Institute of Technology and an M.A. from New York University in 1955. Received Honorary Doctorate degree from Brooklyn College, NY in 1996. Numerous awards include a Fulbright Hayes Fellowship, National Endowment for the Arts Fellowship, John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation Fellowship and National Council of Arts Administrators Visual Artist Award. Pearlstein's work is in most American museums including the Art Institute of Chicago, Museum of Contemporary Art (Chicago), Metropolitan Museum of Art, Museum of Modern Art (New York), Whitney Museum of American Art, Brooklyn Museum, Boston Museum of Fine Arts, Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden, Corcoran Gallery of Art and Museum Ludwig (Cologne, Germany). |
