Elio Ciol (b. Casarsa, Italy, 1929)
Widely recognized as one of the most outstanding narrative photographers working in Italy.
Recent awards include a Special Friuli Venezia Giulia Photo Award from C.R.A.F. Spilimbergo in 1995,
a San Marco Prize from the Pro Pordenone in 1993, a Kraszna-Krasz Award in 1992,
and Citizen of the Year proclamation from the people of Ciol's hometown in Casarsa.
Major American museum collections include the Metrolpolitan Museum of Art (NY), Art Institute of Chicago,
and the Victoria and Albert Museum (London).
