PHYLLIS BRAMSON (b. Madison, Wisconsin, 1941)

Received a B.F.A. in 1963 from the University of Illinois, M.A. in Painting in 1964 from the University of Wisconsin,
and an M.F.A. from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 1974. Numerous grants and awards include
three National Endowment for the Arts Fellowship Grants, Louis Comfort Tiffany Grant, two Illinois Arts Council
Fellowship Grants, John Simon Guggenheim Grant and a Rockefeller Foundation Residency in Italy.
Bramson's work is included in dozens of museums including the Art Institute of Chicago, Museum of
Contemporary Art (Chicago), The David and Alfred Smart Museum of Art – University of Chicago,
Milwaukee Art Museum, Corcoran Gallery of Art, and Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden.
